![]() ![]() All of these games were called "Road Rash", despite being 4th in the series. When Road Rash debuted on the 32-bit home game consoles, they were initially ported from the 3DO version of the game. Depending on what the NPC preferred (some liked being hit, some didn't), the other racers would dynamically react to the player depending on how he or she was treated during the races. ![]() The character also had status among his or her fellow bikers, which was accessible after the race. Some of these characters' names come from combatants from the original Genesis releases, such as "Axle" and "Rhonda". The player could choose a character to play as, which came with a specific cash amount and a personal motorcycle. The game featured full motion video sequences to advance the plot. A version for the Super Nintendo was planned for release, but was eventually canceled. Road Rash, often called Road Rash 3D or Road Rash 3DO to distinguish it from the Genesis original of the same name, was originally released on the 3DO, and later for the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, and PC. The game's title is based on the slang term for the severe friction burns that can occur in a motorcycling fall where skin comes into contact with the ground at high speed. Road Rash and two of its sequels later appeared on the EA Replay collection for the PSP. Six different games were released from 1991 to 1999, and a 2004 licensed port for the Game Boy Advance was released. The game was originally released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, but was ported to several other systems. "Yeah, i'm a criminal, but society's to blame.Road Rash is the name of a motorcycle-racing video game series by Electronic Arts, in which the player participates in violent illegal street races."The next time you get across the finish line it will be in a wheelchair".(To Pearl McKurdy after level 5) "Off me, Pearl, or i'll hurt more than your feelings."."Video games and saturday morning cartoons destroyed my healthy sense of reality."."Pa used to take me out at night to show me how to hunt endangered species for fun and profit."."I live my life as if I were a bad guy in an action film.".Three of the other seven bikers are friendly towards him at the beginning of the game, and the other four are ambivalent towards him. Despite his erratic and violent behaviour, and his unwillingness to be outwardly friendly to anyone else, Axle is widely loved by the other bikers. He is the poorest character in career mode, starting with only $200.Like his description says Axle does not in fact have a good side to get on, as he is either ambivalent to or hates all riders except Slim Jim, who also ends up on his bad side as the levels progress. ![]() However, when playing as Pearl after level 5 Axle will suddenly turn hostile towards you and begin threatening you in a pre-race conversation, and no longer avoid fighting you in-game.He will also never attack Pearl in the middle of a race, contrary to his usually aggressive nature. He is the boyfriend of Pearl McKurdy, yet oddly enough when you play as either Pearl or Axle and talk to the other before a race you receive a neutral response.In-game he is equipped with a chain and his original bike is the 750cc Kamikaze ZYX 750N. Erratic and somewhat insane, Axle is a very violent biker and when talked to will either make nonsensical comments about his philosophy and his bizarre upbringing, or make very graphic threats of violence towards to the player if he feels threatened by their racing ability - usually after level 4 or 5 when the player has demonstrated their skill on the track. He is a playable character for the remake of the Road Rash for PC. He appears in first two levels of the first game and appears in all five levels of Road Rash II. Don't try to get on Axle's good side - he doesn't have one."Īxle is a biker who appears in all three genesis games. Bose Jefferson, losing, his wrist getting crushed, defeat, failure
